Today's Artist of the Day is a little known, Swedish band, Trace of Lords. With only a few songs posted on Youtube and an old, derelict myspace page, Trace of Lords are one of the most mysterious bands we've ever featured here on twittertunez. We don't know their names, how old they are or any other of those devoid, meaningless facts that these reviews are usually chucked full of!

But despite their elusiveness, their song, 'Story of my Life' is played regularly on Sweden's One Eleven Radio (well it's been played at least once). It's a classic piece of Swedish heavy metal, reminiscent of Power Metal giants Dream Evil and close, personal friends of mine, Wolf. Much like Dream Evil, Trace of Lords don't seem to take themselves too seriously with nonsense lyrics appearing throughout their music. The exception to this is their song, 'Leave Me in Silence', which tackles the chilling issue of child abuse. Unlike their countrymen Dream Evil, they achieve a lighter sound with catchy choruses which are bound to get stuck on your head, whether you like it or not!

Musically, they offer a surprisingly well produced sound for such a relatively unknown, unsigned band. Melodic riffs and tempo changes throughout ensure that Trace of Lords stamp their own unique identity onto their music. The song 'Bullet' provides the best example of this with Guitarist “No Name” (Thats what I'm gonna call him) producing a brief but tantalising solo towards the end of the song.

Overall, Trace of Lords may never hit the big time, but they're well worth a listen. Enjoy!
